4×4 Trails by Loch Maree & Dreghorn
Day 1:
Guests arrive on the first afternoon, no later than 17:00, at Loch Maree.
A delicious lamb potjie will be served for dinner on the first evening.
Day 2:
Morning: A short info session with breakfast.
We’ll tackle two short but challenging routes. Each route offers an easier and a more difficult path.
Afterwards, we’ll drive across a large salt pan to the top of a high dune, where sosaties, boerewors, and sides will be served — with breathtaking views over the Kalahari.
Then it’s back to the chalets for a short afternoon nap.
Late afternoon: We’ll drive a short trail near the chalets, including some fun back-and-forth dune driving.
Dinner is a proper braai after a busy day, where you’ll definitely have gotten to know your vehicle better and learned the ropes of dune driving.
Day 3:
We start the day with a hearty breakfast.
Morning: We take a more scenic route, with plenty of wildlife to spot along the way.
We’ll drive along the peaks of high dunes, with a large salt pan lying at the base.
After the drive, we pack up and head to Dreghorn Kalahari Game Farm, where we’ll enjoy curried mince and vetkoek for lunch.
After lunch, guests can rest before we head out again for a scenic sunset drive, ending with a unique Kalahari sunset.
Dinner is a grand spitbraai feast.
Day 4:
Sleep in a bit after the previous night’s spitbraai.
The day starts again with a hearty breakfast.
Today is all about relaxation. We’ll drive to a large dune where guests can challenge themselves on the “challenge dune”, while we braai boerewors and relax under Kameeldoring trees.
After lunch, we return to the chalets for a well-deserved afternoon nap.
Late afternoon: Those who feel like it can head out for sundowners.
Dinner will be a steak braai with sides.
Day 5:
Time to head home.
Coffee and rusks will be served.
A full breakfast is available but not included in the tour cost.

Group size: 8 to 12 people per tour
All meals and accommodation included, except breakfast on Day 5.
